Learn the core skills of CPR, with an instructor, in just 60-75 minutes !!
The Heart and Stroke Foundation's “CPR Family & Friends” Awareness Program allows families, friends and the general public - those who most likely would never attend a traditional CPR course - to learn the core skills of CPR in just 60-75 minutes.
The class teaches the basics of how to deal with life-threatening emergencies: how to deal with choking, what to do if someone is unconscious, how to perform rescue breathing, plus how to perform CPR for adults and children. This class and these skills can be taught anywhere, from the comfort of a family home to a large community group setting.
The CPR Family & Friends awareness program and has been research-proven to be equivalent to taking a traditional course for learning the core skills of CPR.
Who should participate in a ‘CPR Family & Friends’ class?
CPR Family & Friends is an excellent way for anyone to learn CPR. This class is for family members, friends, and members of the general public who do not traditionally attend CPR courses, but who are most likely to witness sudden cardiac arrests in the home or outside of a hospital setting.
During your class, your instructor will:
-Provide CPR mannequins for some hands-on practice -Provide an informative lecture with up to date information -Distribute handout material for you to keep -Guide you in practice following current guideline -Answer all your questions
Upon completion, participants can receive official attestation cards from the Heart and Stroke Foundation at the “CPR Family & Friends” level. (Note: this level does not meet CPR requirements for employment or workplaces)
